Education For Children

A good quality education helps children reach their full potential; however, for millions of children and youth, it is beyond reach and many are not learning basic skills like reading and math if they do attend school. The Positive Change Help For The Homeless Education team works across five major areas, finding the best solutions […]

Donation To Stop Poverty

One billion children in the world are deprived of at least one basic necessity of life, such as food, clean water, shelter or healthcare. That means that instead of running, laughing and playing with friends, these children spend their formative years struggling to survive. Poverty affects every aspect of children’s lives. It limits their opportunities […]

A Quality Education

Our programs ensure that young children survive and thrive – physically and emotionally – and ready them for school success. A good quality education helps children reach their full potential; however, for millions of children and youth, it is beyond reach and many are not learning basic skills like reading and math if they do […]

Food & Sanitary Support

Today, we are not only sourcing more food—we are providing more nutritious food. This year, we helped provide donated produce, enabling struggling families across the country to enjoy more fruits and vegetables. One billion children in the world are deprived of at least one basic necessity of life, such as food, clean water, shelter or […]

Shelter & Earthquake

No one knows when the next earthquake, flood or tsunami will strike. But we do know children are severely affected by natural disasters. They also suffer greatly during conflict, drought and disease outbreaks. Save the Children’s natural disaster response and emergency relief programs help protect vulnerable boys and girls during disasters and their aftermath.

Education & Food

Our education experts work across impoverished areas, providing early learning opportunities through Early Steps, Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Our school-age programs provide supplemental support to struggling readers during school, and in afterschool and summer settings. These programs are proven to accelerate achievement for at-risk children and have been replicated in communities across […]

Where Your Donations Go

Saving The Children

We focus on reaching the world’s most marginalized and deprived children, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.

Help The Helpless

When crisis strikes, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We deliver lifesaving emergency relief and offer psychosocial support to help children recover.

Donation for Poor Families

Our team helps communities prepare and protect the most vulnerable among us during disaster – children. We help generate child-focused emergency plans and provide emergency training and resources in advance, helping keep kids safe.

Shelter & Education

Evacuation shelters can be scary places for kids, which is why we offer our disaster-tested child-friendly spaces, which provide safe and protective play areas for children, and respite for parents so they can start their own recovery process.

Pure Water For Poor

Access to clean water helps keep children healthy. Children who lack access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation are vulnerable to waterborne illnesses. Positive Change for the Homeless will immediately respond with fresh drinking water to communities that need it. We are working with churches and civic organizations to identity specific needs in communities and will work with them to coordinate relief.

Charity for Education

Our innovative U.S. education programs provide early learners with unique opportunities, including Early Steps, Early Head Start and Head Start. Globally, we ensure children develop foundational skills in the early years, learn to read by third grade and that no child’s learning stops because they are caught up in crisis.

Donate for Children

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we help the nation’s most vulnerable children become ready for kindergarten – and excel by third grade – so they can succeed in school and in life. Poverty affects every aspect of children’s lives. It limits their opportunities for education, puts them at risk for health problems and increases the likelihood that they’ll be subjected to child labor or early marriage. Chances are they are hungry and at risk for malnutrition, underdevelopment and stunting, which can have serious health consequences later in life. By striking at both causes and consequences of poverty, Positive Change Help For The Homeless gives kids everywhere a chance for a brighter future. Join us in helping children survive and thrive!

Home for Homeless

On the basis of this supply and demand framework, we consider four major drivers of homeless populations: (i) the higher price of housing resulting from over-regulation of housing markets; (ii) the tolerability of sleeping on the street (outside of shelter or housing); (iii) the supply of homeless shelters; and (iv) the characteristics of individuals in a community that make homelessness more likely. Meanwhile, over 350,000 sheltered homeless people are found in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs. Homelessness almost always involves people facing desperate situations and extreme hardship.

Standing Up for Struggling Families

Positive Change For The Homeless is moving our country closer to the day when everyone has the food they need. We do this by fighting hunger through innovative initiatives that allow us to feed, nourish, empower, unite and connect with communities in need. Through it all, we keep the people we serve at the center of our work.  Over half a million Americans go homeless on a single night in the United States. About 35 percent (just under 200,000) are found sleeping unsheltered on our streets in places not intended for human habitation, such as sidewalks, parks, cars, or abandoned buildings. Meanwhile, over 350,000 sheltered homeless people are found in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs. Homelessness almost always involves people facing desperate situations and extreme hardship. A key quote underscores that the coronavirus is circulating undetected in communities:  'The coronavirus has been circulating undetected and has possibly infected scores of people over the past six weeks in Washington state, according to a genetic analysis of virus samples that has sobering implications for the entire country amid heightening anxiety about the likely spread of the disease.'
