Food & Sanitary Support

Today, we are not only sourcing more food—we are providing more nutritious food. This year, we helped provide donated produce, enabling struggling families across the country to enjoy more fruits and vegetables. One billion children in the world are deprived of at least one basic necessity of life, such as food, clean water, shelter or healthcare. That means that instead of running, laughing and playing with friends, these children spend their formative years struggling to survive.

Shelter & Earthquake

No one knows when the next earthquake, flood or tsunami will strike. But we do know children are severely affected by natural disasters. They also suffer greatly during conflict, drought and disease outbreaks. Save the Children’s natural disaster response and emergency relief programs help protect vulnerable boys and girls during disasters and their aftermath.

Education & Food

Our education experts work across impoverished areas, providing early learning opportunities through Early Steps, Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Our school-age programs provide supplemental support to struggling readers during school, and in afterschool and summer settings. These programs are proven to accelerate achievement for at-risk children and have been replicated in communities across the country.
